By gently targeting our energetic centres & stretching our deep tissues, we create a potent form of emotional & energetic release. The stillness invited into our body amplifies our ability to sense ourselves: on a body, mind & soul level.
••• What is Yin Yoga •••
Yin Yoga is a very subtle, slow-paced practice, where seated or supine poses are held for 2 - 5 minutes, aiming to create deep stretches in our connective tissue. This form of Yoga is deeply connected to Traditional Chinese Medicine & Taoism, as it is designed to stimulate our meridians and foster the flow of chi (lifeforce energy) in our system. Although this practice isn't physically challenging, it's a powerful practice for the mind: Our ability to gaze inwards is heightened and we can encounter various emotions that are longing to be looked at. Instead of running away or fighting it, we stay the silent witness and like that foster patience & the ability to let go.
••• I invite you to make it very comfortable for you & to bring •••
>> a yoga mat or similar surface
>> 1 - 2 folded blankets
>> 1 - 2 small pillows
>> 1 - 2 yoga blocks (or big books)
>> 1 bolster or big pillow
>> tea or water
>> comfortable (& warm) clothing
